Greetings Gulfshore Playhouse fans! Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Nick Duckart, and I am currently starring alongside the lovely and talented Kelley Curran in Gulfshore’s production of VENUS IN FUR by David Ives.
Let me start off by saying that it is not only a thrill to return to Gulfshore Playhouse, but I am beyond delighted to be returning to the beautiful city of Naples. I last performed at GP in 2010, as Marco in A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE, and I absolutely fell in love with the residents of this terrific city, and the patrons that support theatre. You are some of the greatest audience members I have ever had the pleasure of performing in front of, and I am honored to share this incredible play, VENUS IN FUR, with all of you. And what a play it is!

As opening night approaches, I cannot help but be overwhelmed with pride. It is rare for an actor to truthfully acknowledge that they are part of something very special. And VENUS IN FUR is just that…very special. Gulfshore Playhouse has always been a favorite workplace of mine. Kristen Coury, Cody Nickell, and the rest of the amazing staff, create a nurturing, cultivating and inspiring creative environment where there is one goal in mind…supplying the Naples community with the best theatrical experience possible. That is an actor’s dream.

Ever since our first read through, my hopes for this production were immeasurably high. And under the guidance of our fearless, intelligent, and nurturing director, Kristen Coury; working with the most talented and giving actress I have ever had the pleasure of working with, Kelley Curran; and the incredible staff at Gulfshore Playhouse…this experience has surpassed all my expectations. We have worked diligently to create a production that will not only entertain you, our faithful audience, but that will have you reflecting on it long after you leave. You will not be disappointed.

VENUS IN FUR is uproariously funny, sexy, and thought provoking. It was a smash hit on Broadway, and I know I speak for all involved when I say we are thrilled to present it to you. I truly believe that this show is unlike anything ever presented at GP, and you will leave the theatre feeling the same.
