Well, here we are. I have not experienced this feeling in the Fall thus far, but, then again, we have never done three shows in the Fall, as well as three shows in the Spring.
But here we are.
It feels like we opened VENUS only yesterday. It fact, it was only last week. THIS week, because we had a little time between the opening of VENUS and the start of rehearsals for SOMETHING INTANGIBLE, Cody Nickell and I decided to rehearse JACOB MARLEY for a few days. Boy, that was fun and I am VERY excited about all the magic we will be making with that one-man show. A tour-de-force for Cody, and an interesting twist on a classic tale.
Today we had our fist read for SOMETHING INTANGIBLE. Five new actors just like that. And yes, I’ve been here all day on my day off and I’ll soon be starting that 10am to 10pm schedule I know so well.
Friends, we have hit season! Not only have we already met our projections for VENUS (with a week to go) but we have been way busier than we ever thought we’d be. Have you noticed the traffic lately?
We’re already working on the shows for next spring: next week I go to New York to hold auditions for THE GOD GAME, our World Premiere, and ALL MY SONS. And then it will be back and on to our golf tournament.
And before I know it, we will be announcing our 14-15 season.
It’s so exciting to be presenting our first seven-month long schedule for you, in addition to our Summer Camps, and our New Works Festival in the summer months. I’m eternally grateful for the opportunity to continue to Create, Engage and Inspire and delighted you’ve decided to come along for the ride.
See you at the shows!
