Hello Friends in Blog-Land!
I’m excited to tell you about a great new initiative we have created here at Gulfshore Playhouse. Thanks to one of our fantastic Board Members, David Drobis, and his enormous passion for professional theatre, a new concept started to be discussed in the conference rooms and offices of the Playhouse. David’s idea was to gather together a group of committed theatre-lovers and create an auxiliary guild that would help support the way the Playhouse functions. Next step was to create a steering committee. To our immense delight, several people stepped forward and weighed in on all the ideas being bandied about:
What should we call it? How should it function? How many meetings? Should there be dues? Should committee service be included? These and many other ideas got discussed, vetted, and held up to the light.
It is with infinite gratitude we thank those who served on that steering committee:

The mission of the Playhouse Partners is to help with:
- Community Outreach and Awareness
- Fundraising and Friendraising
- Volunteering/Committee Support
And now we are delighted to be able to announce over 70 people in the troops that make up our “Army for the Arts.”

We had our first Kick-off Cocktail Party on the rooftop of the Inn on Fifth on Monday night. The weather was superb, the wine flowed, and the company was, of course, outstanding!
