Taylor Morgan is the Marketing and Audience Services Manager at Gulfshore Playhouse.
On Monday evening, March 13th, Gulfshore Playhouse “moved our stage” to the Ritz Carlton Tiburon for our biggest “production” of the year, the 7th Annual Bubbles, Baubles, and Broadway Gala. You might find yourself wondering why I have called this our largest production when it’s just a gala, right? Surprisingly, it is much much more! The Gulfshore Playhouse gala takes almost a full calendar year to plan and every bit of care that goes into a play goes into the creation of this spectacular evening celebrating the magic of theatre! We truly treat this evening as if it were a play in its own. There are scripts to memorize, costumes to perfect and be fitted for, lighting to design, sound levels to check, and countless other technical aspects on top of the guest lists and decorations!
Once the show was ready to “open” the event tent on the beautiful grounds of the Ritz Carlton was suddenly filled with all of the incredible Gulfshore Playhouse supporters and theatre lovers of Naples. This year was an event to remember as we welcomed our gala chairs Jane and Steve Akin and Dr. Richard and Kyla de Asla to the stage to kick off the event with Emcee and Gulfshore Playhouse star, Jeffrey Binder. The evening included a live auction led by the infamously entertaining, Scott Robertson.
We were honored to have Carmen Cusack who is a Tony Award-Nominee, Grammy Award-Nominee, and star of Gulfshore Playhouse’s World Premiere production Do This performing at the gala. Carmen was absolutely astounding! Guests were delighted and entranced as Carmen belted out Broadway hits like “The Wizard and I” and “Maybe This Time”.
The Gulfshore Playhouse gala continues to grow more and more with each passing year and the excitement for the future is unwavering! We are thrilled to be hosting our gala next year at the Ritz Carlton Beach resort and hope to see you there!
